Compuware Supports Firefox 4, IE9 in Web Testing, Performance Monitoring
Detroit-based Compuware Corp. (Nasdaq: CPWR) Tuesday announced that the Compuware Gomez Platform has been updated to support Firefox 4 and Internet Explorer 9.
Organizations can now validate that Web applications will render and perform optimally for customers using the latest versions of the popular Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers.
Managing browser diversity is increasingly challenging and costly as users adopt different versions of Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Chrome and others. The latest browsers, like Firefox 4 and Internet Explorer 9, have different ways of handling dynamic content such as JavaScript, and, unlike older browser versions, also support a patchwork of HTML5 features. This increased diversity and complexity raises the risk of performance problems, rendering issues and failure of business-critical transactions.
Gomez's cross-browser testing system, which automates cross-browser compatibility testing on more than 500 browsers and operating systems, also supports Firefox 4 and IE9. This allows organizations to test how the pages of their websites render and function on these browsers and to identify and resolve performance and quality issues before they impact customers. Gomez's real-user performance monitoring also supports Firefox 4 and IE 9. It provides organizations with detailed Web performance analytics to track website performance metrics across browsers and link business metrics, such as page views and conversion/abandonment rates, to website performance and end-user satisfaction.
"Today there are more browsers and browser versions, each with their own performance characteristics, impacting your users' Web experience," said Steve Tack, Compuware chief technology officer for application performance measurement solutions. "Organizations need to know how existing and new applications will look and perform across all browsers. Variations in browsers and browser versions mean variations in performance, and ultimately variations in the end user experience."
Learn how your website works across browsers with Gomez's Cross-Browser Compatibility Test, a simple, free, and on-demand way to identify cross-browser compatibility issues by testing any Web page on four browser/OS combinations.
Support for IE9 and Firefox 4 is immediately available in the Gomez platform at no additional charge.
