Community, Religious Leader Nicolas Hood Sr. Dead At 91
DETROIT (WWJ) - A pioneer civil rights leader and former Detroit City council member, Nicolas Hood Sr., has died at the age of 91.
"He was an interesting mix of a person who was theological, but he was also social, he also was political and he was a comedian on top of all that," said his son Steve Hood.
A religious leader in the community, Hood Sr. graduated from Yale University in 1949 and served on the Detroit City Council for 28 years.
