College Football Conference Championship Games Schedule
Below is the schedule of conference championship games with TV schedule. A handful of BCS bowl bids are on the line as well as the two spots in the BCS National Championship game. All times Eastern.
Friday, Dec. 6
MAC: Northern Illinois (12-0) vs. Bowling Green (9-3), 8 p.m., ESPN2, Ford Field, Detroit: An automatic bid to a BCS bowl for the second consecutive season is likely on the line (Fiesta Bowl) for Northern Illinois. Quarterback Jordan Lynch is having a tremndous season and this game will also serve as one last opportunity to impress the Heisman voters. Meanwhile, Bowling Green hasn't won the MAC since 1992 and will be looking for its first double-digit win season since going 11-3 in 2003.
Saturday, Dec. 7
C-USA: Marshall (9-3) vs. Rice (9-3), 11 a.m., ESPN2, Host: TBA (highest ranked BCS team). Usually the winner of C-USA is headed to the Liberty Bowl, but there is no guarantee of that happening this season. The Liberty Bowl could take an AAC team vs. SEC, but if Marshall wins this game, it will most likely take the Thundering Herd. Neither team has ever won the C-USA title.
SEC: Auburn (11-1) vs. Missouri (11-1), 4 p.m., CBS, Georgia Dome, Atlanta. For the first time in a few years, the winner of the SEC Championship game isn't guaranteed a spot in the BCS National Championship game. But with this game being at 4 p.m. and the ACC and Big Ten title games at night, the winner of this game could be in line for a spot in the BCS Championships if Florida State or Ohio State lose. If not, the winner of this game will earn the automatic bid to the Sugar Bowl where it will likely meet UCF.
