Cher In Michigan: Millennials 'Have The Same Fears As I Do About Trump'
EAST LANSING (WWJ) -- Oscar-winning actress and singer Cher hit the road in Michigan stumping for votes for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton on Monday.
She made stops at Michigan State University and Western Michigan University, urging students along the way to cast their ballots next Tuesday. The performer said she was nervous at first, but quickly began to relate with the young people on campus.
"It was so wonderful, we had the greatest exchanges and I was so heartened, I had so much hope after seeing them," Cher said. "After I gave my speech, I talked to some of them and they have the same fears as I do about (Donald) Trump."
Cher also made stops in Bloomfield Hills and in Flint to meet with Mayor Karen Weaver about the city's ongoing water crisis. She has donated hundreds of thousands of bottles of water to the city's residents since the water crisis became public.

Cher told WWJ Newsradio 950's Zahra Huber that she doesn't know how the latest flap over Clinton's use of a private email server will affect the election, but said if Clinton is voted into office she will do a good job.
"I know she's strong, I know she's smart and I know she will work tirelessly to do the job," Cher said. "I believe that if you don't vote you will have a Supreme Court that will set us back 100 years."
Trump also made stops in Michigan on Monday. The Republican presidential nominee visited Grand Rapids and Warren, reiterating his belief that he will win Michigan in next week's election.
"We're going to win Michigan, we're doing great in every poll, we're doing amazing … We're winning in Ohio, we're winning in Iowa … we're winning in Florida, we're winning big in Texas .. This is going to be something special," Trump said earlier in Grand Rapids.

Some of the latest polls have Clinton leading Trump in Michigan by up to nine points. The last Republican nominee to win the Michigan was George H.W. Bush in 1988.
