Car Leaves I-75, Goes Airborne, Rolls Over On Service Drive

DETROIT (WWJ) - Emergency crews are on the scene of a rollover accident along the I-75 service drive in northern Detroit.

The accident happened Friday morning just north of Eight Mile Road. Bill Szumanski, above the scene in Chopper 950, said it appears a car left the freeway and went up onto the service drive.

"We see tire tracks coming up the freeway up the embankment," he said. "This car, this small sedan came up the embankment, it looks like it then went airborne and came down on part of the fence here upside down."

At this  point, it's unclear if anyone was injured.

"The original call came in that there was possibly a baby on board," said Szumanski. "We're taking a look and right now, they do have some stretchers out."

Police and fire crews are on the scene now.
