Car Crashes Into Utility Pole In Warren, Traffic Signals Out
WARREN (WWJ) - A car accident in Warren knocks out some power lines and traffic signals.
WWJ's Ron Dewey reports the corner of 12-Mile and Hoover is shut down because of falling traffic signals.
Warren police say a car went out of control early Wednesday morning and took out the utility pole supporting the traffic signals, which brought them crashing down to the pavement.
The 23-year-old driver of the car was taken to the hospital with what were described as non-life threatening injuries. Officials say alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
As a result, this busy corner is going to be closed to traffic for the rest of the day until they can replace the traffic signal system. DTE Energy workers estimate it could be between 6 and 11 p.m. before the intersection reopens.
