Canadian Shoppers May Spend Big In U.S. This Summer
DETROIT (WWJ) - Canadians could be making a run for the border this summer -- to shop.
New relaxed cross-border shopping rules went into effect at the beginning of the month. And, a Canadian Press survey finds that 54-percent of Canadians planning a trip to the U.S. plan to spend more on taxable and duty-free goods. A stronger loonie is also helping send shopping across the border.
Four million Canadians are expected to travel to the U.S. this summer.
