Calvin Johnson Questionable For Jets Game; Fauria, Vaughn Ruled Out

ALLEN PARK (CBS DETROIT) - The Detroit Lions listed 13 players on Friday's injury report.

Tight end Joseph Fauria (ankle), linebacker Travis Lewis (quadricep) and cornerback Cassius Vaughn (ankle) have all been ruled out for Sunday's road game against the New York Jets. Safety Don Carey (hamstring) and right tackle LaAdrian Waddle (calf) are listed as doubtful.

Among the players listed as questionable are wide receiver Calvin Johnson (ankle) and fullback Montell Owens (hamstring). Probable for Sunday's game are defensive ends Ezekiel Ansah (knee) and George Johnson (groin), running backs Joique Bell (knee) and Theo Riddick (hamstring), defensive tackle Nick Fairley (biceps), and safety James Ihedigbo (neck).

If Ihedigbo plays, it will be his first game of the season -- and his first as a Lion. Ihedigbo came to Detroit in the offseason as a free agent and was expected to start. If he does indeed play Sunday, it would be a significant boost to a secondary that has suffered numerous injuries, two of them season-ending.

Calvin Johnson, who had surgery on his knee and on a finger during the offseason, missed practice Wednesday and Thursday due to his ankle issue and was limited in Friday's practice. Depending on how much the injury bothers Johnson Sunday, perhaps number two wide receiver Golden Tate will see more passes coming his way against the Jets.

Fauria is out after twisting his ankle in an accident at his home this week. Rookie tight end Eric Ebron, whom the Lions drafted in the first round this year, should get a bigger role in the offense Sunday because of Fauria's absence.
