Cable&Wireless To Offer Compuware Products
London, England-based Cable&Wireless Worldwide (LSE: CW) has selected Compuware Corp. (Nasdaq: CPWR) to offer Compuware Vantage and Gomez systems and software as an enhancement for its Application Performance Management product portfolio, its central software management suite.
Compuware Vantage and Gomez will give added visibility of applications running across both the enterprise and the Internet, enabling a comprehensive way to identify possible faults or slow connections affecting the quality of applications both within and outside the organization.
Compuware Vantage and Gomez will support technologies including Cisco Network Analysis Module, Cisco Unified Computing System, Cisco Wide Area Application Services, cloud computing, virtualization, unified communications and multi-media. Compuware is a Solution Developer partner in the Cisco Developer Network, an initiative that unites third-party developers of hardware and software with Cisco technologies to enable delivery of tested interoperable solutions to customers.
The system will provide broad visibility and deep-dive resolution across the entire application delivery chain, spanning both the enterprise and the Internet. The first of its kind, Compuware Vantage and Gomez brings organizations a unified view of the health of business applications that starts from the customer perspective and follows through to the back-end data center, giving complete visibility and insight into application performance and business impact. This unparalleled breadth is combined with deep-dive analysis for rapid troubleshooting and root-cause identification, regardless of whether the source of the problem is on the Internet or in the data center. Used alongside other solutions that support C&W Worldwide's APM portfolio it will enable C&W Worldwide to provide its customers with an end-to-end application and network performance management solution.
Said Tom Stockwell, business manager at Cable&Wireless Worldwide: "The addition of Compuware is a core part of the latest development of our APM product portfolio. As mission critical business applications become more complex and the Internet grows more important for business operations, it is essential to deliver dependable application performance. With Compuware Vantage and Gomez incorporated into our APM suite we can provide a more complete view of application performance that exceeds customer expectations."
C&W Worldwide's APM ensures optimum performance from business-critical applications across its next-generation network. APM uses a central software management suite to ensure business-critical applications perform well, consistently, and deliver better value from the network by optimizing bandwidth use. It monitors network traffic and application performance in real-time, automatically distributing and managing network allocation to ensure traffic is prioritized according to what applications an organization has decided are most business-critical. APM can also accelerate selected applications across the Wide Area Network, improving the performance of all types of applications -- from file sharing and databases to software distribution.
"Compuware and Cable&Wireless Worldwide can help customers reduce IT costs and increase organizational agility," said Kimberly King, vice president of channels and alliances at Compuware.
Added Clive Foreman, vice president of the network management technology group at Cisco: "Cisco is excited to see application performance vendors like Compuware take advantage of the rich data provided by Cisco Network Analysis Module to offer greater application and network visibility and new value added services. With offerings such as this solution, customers can more quickly deploy new business applications and services while ensuring that performance and availability are met."
