Body Found Near Harsens Island

St. Clair County Sheriff's Department divers have recovered the body of a man in Muscamoot Bay, near Harsens Island.

The body was spotted early Tuesday morning in less than five feet of water by a homeowner near South Channel Drive on the island, according to Sheriff Tim Donnellon.

"Detectives are currently working on a very strong lead in regards to a missing person report out of northern Macomb County," said Donnellon. "We have been in touch with the family of a person who was reported missing from Muscamoot Bay on Saturday. However, until we can make positive identification of the person, we will not be able to release any further information on the victim."

An autopsy is planned for Wednesday morning.

The investigation is ongoing.
