BlueGranite's Mace Presenting At Microsoft WDC
Matthew Mace, president and CEO of Kalamazoo-based BlueGranite Inc., will be a guest speaker at the 2010 Microsoft World Partner Conference in Washington, D.C. this week.
The event is to be attended this year by 14,000 Microsoft partners and executives.
Mace, who will be presenting with Mike Thomsen, senior marketing manager of the Microsoft Business Intelligence division at 1:30 p.m. July 15, will discuss his firm's success as a provider of business intelligence systems for some of the nation's top companies.
"Although many software categories have been hurt by the recession, business intelligence continues to grow," Mace said. "It has been and remains a top priority for many of our clients and for businesses around the world. In 2009, it was a $9.3 billion industry world-wide and 2010 looks to be at least as strong."
BlueGranite, formed in 1996, has grown steadily by providing increasingly complex products and services for companies who wish to use information as a corporate strategy for growth and expansion. BlueGranite, committed to supporting Microsoft exclusively, has benefited from Microsoft's strategy of providing comprehensive and affordable solutions for businesses.
"Microsoft changed the technology game by providing affordable out-of-the-box Business Intelligence tools like SQL Server and Excel," Mace said. "They made those tools universally available by developing Web-based interface solutions like SharePoint. And each year the technology gets better and easier to use. That's allowed us to focus on developing domain-expertise in areas such as sales, marketing, finance and logistics. In this way, we can help our clients develop strategies for leveraging their information in an increasingly complex and competitive global environment."
