Beaumont Names New COO
Dr. K. Bobbi Carbone has been named executive vice president and Chief Operating Officer of William Beaumont Hospitals. Carbone is the first woman and the first physician to hold that post.
Dr. Carbone comes to the Detroit area from Houston but had a fellowship at the University of Michigan.
Beaumont Hospitals spokesman Mike Killian says Carbone, an anesthesiologist, is a talented professional.
"She has direct experiences in hospitals dealing with clinical effectiveness and quality improvement," he said.
Killian says Carbone's arrival comes at a challenging time in the health care industry. "You can make a great deal of change and really make things better in a hurry, and I think she looks at it in a very positive way and from my conversations she is excited about coming."
Carbone will start July 26.
