Automation Alley Sets Trade Missions, International Events For 2012
TROY -- Automation Alley, Michigan's largest technology business association, announced last week that its International Business Services team has planned a full roster of events for 2012 to help Southeast Michigan businesses expand their reach beyond United States borders, including international, domestic and virtual trade missions, conferences and networking events.
"This year, we've ramped up our activities to meet members' demands for more opportunities to expand internationally," said Noel Nevshehir, the Alley's director of international business services. "Our team has organized trade missions to countries where the demand for Michigan-made products and services are high -- countries where we believe our members are likely to experience trade success. We also have a wide variety of events planned to create awareness of the export and industry diversification opportunities available to local businesses. In today's global economy, it's crucial that Michigan businesses begin to expand their reach outside U.S. borders. These events will give them the tools to get started."
Due to increasing demand by membership, 2012 will be Automation Alley's busiest year yet for trade missions. Seven trade missions are currently planned, including:
* United Arab Emirates (virtual trade mission), Jan. 26
* Association of the United States Army Winter Symposium and Exposition, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Feb. 22-24
* Hannover Messe 2012, Germany, April 23-27
* Brazil, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, May 20-26
* India (virtual trade mission), June 27
* Canada, Montreal, Toronto or Vancouver, Sept. 16-20
* Israel and Turkey, Haifa, Tel Aviv and Istanbul, Nov. 2-9.
Event topics are driven by the membership through responses to surveys and other feedback. Events for 2012 include:
* Brazil: The Americas' Engine of Economic Growth, Feb. 2
* Cybersecurity: Assessing Your Global Risks and Threats, Feb. 17
* Driving Efficiencies Into Your Global Supply Chain, March 8
* Creating Globally-Focused Strategic Plans, April 19-26
