Auto Show Continues To Attract Record Numbers

DETROIT (WWJ) Friday's attendance at the 2011 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) at Cobo Center broke an attendance record set back in 1993.

Friday, more than 75,320 people attended the show. In 2010, the Friday attendance figure was 69,102.

NAIAS spokesman Scott LaRiche says we could be closing in on a record for the year. "In fact the record was 810,000 and I believe this year we are going to break 725,000 and get pretty close to 750,000. If you compare that to 2010 we are at 714,000 so we are absolutely going to see a nice up-tick."

Remember there is still time to check out the WWJ booth in the lobby of Cobo Center.

Tickets for the auto show are $12 per person for adults, $6 for seniors and children over 7.
