Arraignment Set In Death Of Port Huron Man

PORT HURON TWP.  (WWJ) - A 57-year-old Port Huron man will stand in front of a judge Friday in connection with a body that was dumped Wednesday morning on Hueling Road north of Lapeer.

St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon says a witness told officials she saw two men dump the body of 30-year-old Orville McNew on the gravel road.

"That was the defining piece of the puzzle, is that the witness was able to give us a good vehicle description as well as some clothing descriptions of two of the suspects. We were able to locate the vehicle and actually one of the suspects still in the same clothing, so yes, the citizen saved the day for us," adds Donnellon.

A 37-year-old man was also arrested but later released; pending the investigation. Donnellon says no signs of trauma were found on the body.
"Obviously not a natural death, no, but we do have some, we are working with the Prosecutors office as far as additional charges which may be coming as far the investigation is concerned," says Donnellon.

Officials are still awaiting autopsy results to determine McNew's cause of death.
