Andy Dirks Ends Home Run Drought At 20 Games
Tigers outfielder Andy Dirks broke a 1-1 game Sunday against the Royals with a solo home run to straightaway center, just eluding Jarrod Dyson's leap at the wall, with one out in the fifth inning. Dirks finished 2 for 4 with a strikeout.
Dirks is batting .297 (11 for 37) with a home run, three doubles and three RBI in his last 11 games. Sunday's home run was his first in 20 games.
