7-Year-Old Seriously Injured In Bike, Car Collision
DETROIT (WWJ) Police say a 7-year-old girl was seriously injured when she left a driveway in the 800 block of Stirling in Pontiac on her Huffy bicycle and was struck by a GMC pickup truck.
It happened at 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
The 7-year-old, who was not wearing a bike helmet, was transported to McLaren-Oakland Hospital via Star EMS, officers said. She was conscious and alert and is in stable condition, according to a press release.
She is currently being transferred to William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.
The GMC driver was a 47-year-old Pontiac man with three passengers in the vehicle. No one in the truck was injured.
Alcohol was not a factor in this crash, police said, adding the crash remains under investigation by Pontiac police and the Oakland County Sheriff's Department's Crash Reconstruction Unit.
