34,000 Pounds Of Ribs And Counting For Labor Day BBQs

DETROIT (WWJ) - A busy weekend ahead for a local butcher....as metro Detroiters are planning some big barbecues to celebrate Labor Day.

Three generations working at Ronnie's Quality Meats in the Gratiot Central Market and all the faithful customers are stopping to 'hi' to Ronnie.

Tom Bedway, his son, tells  WWJ's Vickie Thomas that he is bringing in backup to help with the holiday weekend rush.

"We have nice weather so we are planning a big holiday, a lot of people like to finish off the summer, Labor Day weekend with a BBQ, so we have a lot of the regular items that they generally use stocked up and ready for purchase," said Bedway.

He expects to sell 34,000 pounds of ribs.
