1 Dead, 2 Hurt In Detroit Shooting
Detroit police are searching for a suspect in a triple shooting that left one person dead and two injured Monday on the city's east side.
Second Deputy Chief John Roach said they believe the suspect came into the house on Lappin street near Gratiot and started shooting.
Roach said police believe the shooting is drug-related based on what they've seen at the house. "There was no running water in the house, there was trash turned all about the place. It was clearly uninhabitable by anybody," he said.
"But we also did find drug paraphernalia and some small quantities of drugs that were apparently packaged for sale that we believe may have been part of the dynamic inside the house when the shooting happened," Roach said.
Roach tells WWJ the two living victims are not cooperating with the investigation, leading police to believe that this wasn't a random shooting.
"Our guess is that these guys know who the shooter may be, and are not wanting to share that information with us," he said.
Roach said the two injured victims were expected to be okay.
