Wildfire Chars 75-100 Acres In Southwestern Colorado
CREEDE, Colo. (AP) - Crews are battling a wildfire that has charred between 75 and 100 acres and is threatening a handful of homes in southwestern Colorado.
Mike Blakeman, a spokesman for the Rio Grande National Forest, says the fire was reported at about noon Friday and is burning in a wooded area about 15 miles southwest of Creede.
No structures have been damaged, but three homes and several outbuildings are threatened.
Three engines and a helicopter are fighting the fire, the cause of which is under investigation.
