Warning To Broncos Opponents: Watch Out For 'Deuce Deuce'

CENTENNIAL, Colo. (CBS4) - C.J. Anderson no more! We should now refer to the Broncos running back as "Deuce Deuce."

Joking, of course. But Anderson did refer to himself as such on the CBS4 Football Blitz. He was the special guest on the CBS4 Sports show, along with safety T.J. Ward.

Ward won't be playing against the Steelers in Pittsburgh on Sunday. Anderson (who wears No. 22) has been battling injuries but he might play.

"I told the defense the other day ... you would rather want 22 in the playoffs because I could care less about home field advantage and where we play. If we play in Alaska Deuce Deuce gonna show up," Anderson said. "They know I'm going to come out and play hard. That's what the defense knows about me."

CBS4's Vic Lombardi then asked Ward "T.J., he just referred to himself as Deuce Deuce, by the way. I don't know if you caught that."

"I heard that," Ward laughed.

Later on in the show, Lombardi shared an observation with the guests on the show.

"You guys are the kind of team that seems to play to the level of the opposition. Why is that?"

Ward said the Broncos "need to shake that."

"We have to be championship caliber, and we have to play to our level every week. And we haven't done that. So we have some growth and improvement to do," Ward said.
