Travel Waivers, Cancellations Ahead Of Weekend Storm
DENVER (CBS4)- One airline has issued travel waivers and events around Colorado have been canceled in advance of the winter storm expected to hit the Denver metro area this weekend.
Frontier Airlines has enacted travel waivers for those passengers scheduled to travel between Friday and Sunday. They are allowed to make one itinerary change without additional fees.
In Clear Creek County, the planned closure of westbound lanes of Interstate 70 at the Eisenhower Tunnel was cancelled. The closure was scheduled to begin on Sunday and continue through April 22 for replacement of a damaged barrier. Work has been rescheduled until the conclusion of the storm.
Earth Day celebrations in Lakewood scheduled for Saturday have been canceled. The celebration included an outdoor festival and electronics recycling event.
An emergency siren test scheduled for Saturday in Weld County has also been canceled.
