Texas is one of several Southern states where snow and ice are creating treacherous travel conditions. At the airport at Dallas-Fort Worth dozens of flights were canceled on Sunday and Monday, and that included the Viseurs' flight.
After spending the night at the airport Sunday night on cots and on the floor, the family rented a car and are now making what is turning out to be a very slow drive home to Colorado.
A state of emergency was declared in New Mexico after blizzard conditions moved through the eastern part of the state, and there are numerous highway closures there, in Texas and in Oklahoma.
