Son Arrested On Unrelated Charge After Father's Shooting

EAGLE COUNTY, Colo. (CBS) - Authorities in Eagle County investigated an early morning shooting on Thursday.

Police were called to the home of William Leake who was shot in the head just after 1:00 Thursday morning.

His son, Nicholas Leake, 25, made the call.

When police arrived they arrested Nicholas for violating his parole by being under the influence of alcohol.

On Thursday he was being held at the Eagle County Detention Facility.

An investigation is underway to determine if the shooting was self-inflicted or criminal. William Leake is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Grand Junction.

The victim's condition was unknown as of Thursday afternoon.
