Snowmobiler Dies In Avalanche On Kebler Pass
CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. (CBS4) - An avalanche has claimed the life of a Colorado man on Kebler Pass near Crested Butte.
The Colorado Avalanche Information Center says the fatal slide took place Thursday afternoon in Gunnison County. Two people riding on a snowmobile unintentionally triggered the avalanche.
The victim hasn't been identified, but he lived in Colorado.
Emergency crews extracted the man after he became buried in a tree well. This is the first avalanche death in Colorado so far this year.
