Shooting Suspect Sent Notebook Filled With Violent Writings To Psychiatrist
AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- The shooting suspect in last week's deadly rampage at an Aurora movie theater sent a notebook with vivid writings about violent acts to a University of Colorado psychiatrist before the attack.
It may provide clues to a motive in the tragedy.
"Since that time we have a second package that is currently being investigated as we speak but no information is available at this time," said Lilly Marks, Vice President of Health Affairs with the University of Colorado Denver/Anschutz Medical Campus.
The notebook was found inside a package in a central mail room. CBS News reports the package was apparently sent from suspect James Holmes to a University professor who is also a psychiatrist.
The mailing contains a spiral notebook including writings that highlighted violent acts.
The relationship between Holmes and the psychiatrist is not fully understood at this time.
It is also unclear when the package arrived at the building or how long it had been there before its discovery on Monday.
Don't miss a special hour long report on CBS4 on Friday at 4 p.m. titled "Movie Theater Tragedy: Remember, Honor Support" which will look back at the week following the Aurora shootings.
