Westbound I-70 west of Denver reopens after semi-truck crash

A semi-truck crash closed the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 near the Colorado town of Georgetown on Saturday, but it has since reopened.

The crash was reported around 10:30 a.m. and I-70 eventually reopened around 3 p.m.

No injuries were reported, according to the Clear Creek County Sheriff's Office, but traffic was being diverted off exit 228, leading to considerable backups before the reopening.

Camera footage from the Colorado Department of Transportation showed several first responders and CDOT road crews, including a heavy-duty tow truck at the site of the crash.

The contents of the truck were transferred to another truck to get the materials back on the road before crews were able to remove the crashed truck.
