Dive teams search in Denver metro area lake for evidence after suspect runs from Northglenn police
Law enforcement in a northern Denver metro area city gave a heads up to the public about an increased police presence at a lake.
Northglenn police posted online Monday morning that there was an operation going on at E.B. Rains Jr. Memorial Park to try to find evidence.
Police chased a suspect on Sunday night, according to Northglenn PD, and that person ran away and went into the lake.
"We believe the suspect may have discarded evidence in the water," Northglenn police wrote on their posting.
Dive teams from Thornton and Westminster were helping Northglenn with their search for evidence.
Police didn't say what object or objects may have been deposited in the water. They also didn't say whether the suspect was captured or not.
