Northglenn Police Shoot At Robbery Suspect 12 Times

NORTHGLENN, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Northglenn finally arrested a robbery suspect after he rammed a squad car and officers fired at him 12 times.

Officers caught up to Joseph Huff around 3 p.m. in the parking lot of a bowling alley at 104th and Melody, southwest of Interstate 25 after they tried to serve a warrant to the driver of a U-Haul truck.

That's when police said Huff, 54, rammed at least one police cruiser and officers opened fire.

Three officers fired a dozen times at Huff. They finally arrested him by using a stun gun.

"They were approaching the car and right now the vehicle is still stuck together so it was pretty close," said Northglenn Police spokesman Ron Haralson.

Huff was wanted for felony menacing and robbery.

Even though the gunfire lasted only a few seconds, investigators were collecting evidence for several hours. Dozens of evidence tags marked the number of times officers fired.

No one at the bowling alley was hurt. No officers were injured.
