No Broncos Players Show Up After Lockout Order Gets Lifted
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) -- No Denver Broncos players have shown up at team headquarters after a federal judge lifted the owners' lockout, even though the team put out a welcome mat for them.
Team spokesman Patrick Smyth said the building was open to all personnel Tuesday, although if players did show up, they wouldn't be allowed to work out or do anything football-related while the team awaited further guidance from the NFL.
Smyth said players nevertheless would be welcomed into the facility, saying: "Any players who arrive will be treated with courtesy and respect."
Regional scouts arrived early in the morning as did football chief John Elway, general manager Brain Xanders and coach John Fox to finalize their draft preparations.
