New Car Share Parking Spots Open Up In Denver
DENVER (CBS4) - Denver's new car share program is accelerating.
Car Share allows drivers to rent cars and pay by the minute. On Wednesday Denver Public Works unveiled the new parking signs where the cars can be parked and drivers don't have to feed a meter.
The companies that run the car sharing programs pay for permits to use the 30 spots throughout the city.
Public works says the program will provide more options for getting around town.
"People just wanting options; we have a great transit system in Denver," Robert Ferrin with Denver Public Works said. "This is just one more option to help complement those other investments we've made."
Car share is available for people living in Denver as well as travelers. There will be at least 400 cars in the fleet.
