McCaffrey Powers Valor Christian To 4A Title
DENVER (AP) — Christian McCaffrey scored four touchdowns Saturday, and Valor Christian rolled to its third straight state championship with a 66-10 victory over Pine Creek in the Class 4A title game.
McCaffrey, a sophomore running back, helped blow the game open with two TDs in Valor's 31-point second quarter. The sophomore running back had a 4-yard scoring run and a 34-yard touchdown reception from Wes Tabor.
Top-ranked Valor (14-0), a Highlands Ranch school that has won 24 consecutive games, led 7-3 at the end of the first quarter, 38-3 at the half and 59-10 after the third quarter.
Pine Creek (13-1), the No. 3 seed from Colorado Springs, scored one touchdown on a 60-yard run by J.T. Travis early in the second half.
