The charges allege that on Dec. 8, Wood opened fire on Denver Police Officer Tony Lopez, Jr. during a traffic stop near Federal Boulevard and Clyde Place and then carjacked a vehicle in an attempt to get away.

Wood was arrested a short time later near 20th and Chestnut Streets following a brief chase. He remains in custody on $50,000 in a separate robbery case and $500,000 in the attempted murder of the officer.

Wood is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court on Friday to be formally advised of the charges in the attempted murder case.
