Snow is Over for a While, Temperatures Warm for the East
By Ed Greene
DENVER (CBS4) - All Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories were cancelled early Wednesday as the snow ended over most mountain locations. But the winds were strong and gusty making it feel colder than it actually was: the high reached 58 at the airport and 59 downtown, but winds gusted to 63 miles an hour through the metro area. Those winds will slowly decrease this evening with just breezy conditions at times overnight and then again Thursday afternoon. The high Thursday should reach the upper 60s under partly sunny skies...and into the lower 70s record territory is anything warmer than 71 degrees - that the current record high for February 10th set back in 1951.
Enjoy that mild weather as Saturday turns cloudy and colder with a chance for rain showers and a high dropping into the mid 50s. Rain changes over to snow Saturday night into early Sunday morning with Sunday becoming mostly cloudy with a high only in the low 40s. We'll start next week with mostly sunny skies and highs slightly above normal - in the low 50s - for Monday Tuesday and Wednesday.
