Friday Sees a Record High for Denver...with Snow on the Horizon

By Ed Greene

DENVER (CBS4) - Thursday saw the high push 23 degrees above normal for early February when the high reached 68 degrees and 69 downtown.  For Friday the high will be even warmer - into the low to mid 70s with partly sunny skies!  In southeastern Colorado highs with soar into the 70s and lower 80s and as a result a Fire Weather Watch and Red Flag Warning have been issued for that part of the state for Friday afternoon.  But this time of year those temperatures can't last forever...and they won't: Saturday in Denver will see increasing clouds with rain showers developing and a high in the mid 50s.  Overnight Saturday into early Sunday that rain will chance over to snow, but should end before sunrise.  Sunshine returns as Sunday wears on but the high will be in the far more seasonal low to mid 40s.

As we begin next week, sunshine and slightly warmer temperatures return with a high on Monday in the low 50s and mid 50s by Tuesday.
