Perfect Travel Weather Today, Mountain Snow Tonight

By Ashton Altieri

DENVER (CBS4) - Dry weather returns statewide on Wednesday with no weather related travel delays expected anywhere in Colorado. Temperatures will also be warmer compared to Tuesday with highs in the lower 50s for Denver and the Front Range.

And speaking of Tuesday, we must mention it was our wettest day in almost 5 months with 0.30" in the rain gauge at DIA.

It will now stay completely dry in Denver through at least Saturday but snow will return to the mountains along and north of I-70 Wednesday night into early Thursday morning. Accumulation will range from 3-6 inches along portions of the I-70 corridor with slightly higher amounts (up to 7 inches) along the Highway 40 corridor over Berthoud and Rabbit Ears Passes. Most of the snow will occur after midnight and will end before 9 a.m. Thursday.

Mountain Snow Wednesday Night

Thanksgiving in the metro area will be sunny and chilly with highs in the upper 40s.

Another relatively weak storm will arrive on Sunday bringing colder weather back to our entire region. A sprinkle or two is possible on Sunday but mainly dry weather is expected for the Broncos game. Kickoff temperatures will be close to freezing at 6:30 p.m. It will undoubtedly be the coldest home game so far this season for the Broncos.

Snow will also be in the mountains from Sunday through Tuesday while Denver and the Front Range remains mostly dry.
