Cold Blast Brings Freezing Fog and Drizzle

By Ed Greene

DENVER (CBS4) - After a high of 61 degrees on Tuesday, that cold front we talked about yesterday, bluntly powered into the state from the east providing upslope fog and with much colder temperatures resulting in some freezing fog, drizzle and snow flurries. Temperatures ended up only in the 20s for most of the afternoon - nearly 40 degrees cooler than just 24 hours ago. As a result, a Winter Weather Advisory for Freezing Fog and Drizzle continues until 9am Thursday for the northeastern quarter of the state, including the greater metro area. Icy road surfaces may be a problem in some areas for the Thursday morning commute.

That morning freezing fog and drizzle will give way to clearing skies as the day goes on Thursday with a high reaching to near 40 degrees. Then, just in time for the weekend, the weather gets a whole lot better: mostly sunny Friday with a high in the low 40s; partly sunny and warmer for your weekend with highs in the upper 50s for both Saturday and Sunday.
