Sunshine and Warming for Those Last Minute Shoppers
By Ed Greene
DENVER (CBS4) - Good snow for the mountains continues with the Weather Alerts in effect until 8am Friday...then a break, before the next winter storm invades the state with more snow for the high country and possible light snow or snow showers for the east and Denver on Christmas Day.
Thursday the high in Denver officially at the airport was 5 degrees below normal when we only reached 37 degrees...downtown we did a bit better reaching 43 degrees. We'll turn warmer on Friday with a high of 49 under partly sunny skies and even milder on Saturday for the last minute shoppers: a high of 53 degrees with mostly sunny skies.
Then the next system will bring more snow to the high country as it cools Denver down into the low 40s with a chance for snow showers. Sunshine returns on Monday as we stay chilly - a high of 39. More sunshine on Tuesday as we warm into the upper 40s.
