Cool, Unsettled Week Ahead
By Chris Spears
DENVER (CBS4) - The first full week of September will be on the cool and unsettled side for Colorado thanks to the current jet stream pattern.
A large area of low pressure sitting to our northwest will sit and spin over the next several days keeping occasional showers and storms in the forecast along with reinforcing shots of cool air.
In fact by Wednesday we could see a shot of air so cool that highs in Denver may only reach the upper 60s and lower 70s.

A few of our highest mountain peaks could see snow showers with this weather pattern. We aren't expecting anything heavy - just enough to remind us that a change in the seasons is on the way!
While the forecast is unsettled, the good news is that this type of weather helps to keep fire danger down.
Current indications are that by the upcoming weekend we'll see temperatures warm back to where they should be for this time of year.
