1 Arrested In Standoff With Lakewood Police

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Lakewood arrested one suspect in a barricade situation early Wednesday morning. Officers rushed to a business at the southwest corner of West Colfax and Wadsworth Boulevard about 4:30 a.m.

When officers arrived at the business, an EZ PAWN shop, they attempted to contact at least one person who was still inside. After hours of attempting contact, one suspect was taken into custody.

Lindsay Jones with the Lakewood Police Department confirmed that there were no hostages inside the business.

The incident forced police to close West Colfax Avenue at Allison Street and southbound lanes of Wadsworth Boulevard at West 20th Avenue. It is unclear when the lanes will be reopened.
