La Plata County Joins Others Requiring Radon Detectors In New Homes
LA PLATA COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - There's a move to improve the safety of homes in La Plata County.
Updated building codes require that each new house have a radon detector. Radon is a colorless, odorless gas that can cause lung cancer.
Having detectors is already a requirement in many Colorado towns and counties.
