King Soopers Pulls 'Pink Slime' From Meat Counter

DENVER (CBS4)- King Soopers stores will no longer carry ground beef that has been labeled 'pink slime.'

Several other grocery store chains, including Safeway and Albertson's, have already pulled the lean finely textured beef.

Kroger, which operates King Soopers stores, made the announcement Thursday.

The additive is made from lower quality meat scraps and treated with an agent like ammonia to prevent bacteria, like E.coli.
