High Dollar Figures Of Some NFL Fines Surprise Broncos Players

CENTENNIAL, Colo. (CBS4) - Earlier this week the NFL fined Broncos safety T.J. Ward for having his jersey untucked.

It's a violation of uniform code, and a player wearing their socks too low could also get such a fine.

On the CBS4 Football Blitz this week Vic Lombardi asked guests cornerback Chris Harris and tight end Owen Daniels if they knew how much the fine was for such a violation. Daniels nailed it = about $5,700.

If a player uses Twitter or Facebook during a game, the fine for "personal messages"?

Harris guessed $10,000. He was a little bit off. It's also $5,787.

Harris was a little closer with his guess for excessive profanity. He guessed $10,000 again. The fine is $11,576.

But both players were really blown away to hear the fine for a blindsided block. Such an action carries a $23,152 fine.

"Whoa!" said Harris and Daniels, who both guessed it was about half that amount.

Physical contact with an official is a real no-no for an NFL player. While both players on the CBS4 Sports show guessed the cost of such a fine is quite high, neither knew the exact amount. It is $28,940.
