Golden Police Search For Sexual Assault Suspect

GOLDEN, Colo. (CBS4) - Police in Golden are looking for a sexual assault suspect who attacked a woman on Wednesday.

It happened at the Summit View Apartments, 17600 W. 14th Ave. The woman told police the man entered her apartment wearing a mask and sexually assaulted her.

The victim told investigators she did not know the man.

Police said it appears the man came to the apartment targeting the specific woman, rather than looking for a victim at random.

The suspect was described as a white man, about 6'2" tall with brown or hazel colored eyes, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and gray pants. The man does have a distinctive mark or tattoo on his lower leg or calf in the size and shape of a chicken egg.

"It makes me concerned for my wife, you know, with someone running around like that," said Justin Larsen, who lives at the apartment complex.

Golden police are asking anyone who may have seen the suspect prior to or after the assault to contact them at 303-384-8079. Police said there have not been any similar cases in Golden.
