Gas Leak In Aurora Creates Road Closures

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - Officials warned residents Wednesday afternoon of a gas leak in Aurora.

The intersection of South Buckley Road and East Smoky Hill Road was closed.

The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office first tweeted the alert at 11 a.m.

The city of Aurora expected the intersection to be closed for roughly three hours as a crew patched the leak. A right turn from Smoky Hill onto northbound Buckley was the only direction open.

South Buckley Road and westbound East Smoky Hill were reopened around noon, and one lane of eastbound Smoky Hill opened at approximately 12:15 p.m.
