Denver Won't Plow Residential Streets After This Storm
DENVER (CBS4)- Crews were out on the streets across the Denver metro area on Thursday clearing snow from major streets but those residential and side streets could remain snow covered for a while.
Denver Public Works said the plows used for clearing side streets are not equipped to handle this type of snow.
"So with this storm we receive a lot of heavy, wet snow which created a lot of slush and those light-duty plows, they are really not meant to clear that type of snow and they wouldn't be able to," said Denver Public Works spokeswoman Heather Burke.
Burke said crews will monitor puddles and drop de-icer as those temperatures start to drop.
