Denver Weather: Instead Of Record Heat, Expect Showers And Thunderstorms
DENVER (CBS4) - Two cooling ingredients are mixing together on the weather map to bring a cooler and somewhat stormy pattern for Friday and the weekend ahead. A cold front pushed in over the mountains and eastern plains early Friday morning delivering few early showers across parts of the Denver metro and the northeast corner of Colorado.
At the same time an influx of monsoon moisture is adding a good chance for afternoon and evening thunderstorms across the region.
A few storms may also be severe with hail up to the size of quarters and wind up to 60 mph. The Front Range is under a "marginal" threat for severe weather.
The chance for afternoon and/or evening showers and thunderstorms will continue through the weekend as highs stay in the 80s along the Front Range. It currently appears Sunday has a better chance for rain compared to Saturday.
