Denver Records Warmest September On Record, On Track For Warmest October

Written by Meteorologist Chris Spears DENVER (CBS4) - After ending the month of September as the warmest ever recorded in Denver, the city is on track to do it again this month.

Through October 16 the average temperature at Denver International Airport has been 60.8°F, which is a full 7°F above normal.

Extremes have ranged from a high of 87°F on October 11 to a low of 36°F the very next morning, on October 12.

The average high in Denver for the middle of October is in the middle 60's and the average low should be in the middle 30's.

Denver's warmest October ever recorded was in 1950 with an average temperature of 59.9°F.

It's important to note that there are still two weeks left in the month and a lot can change, but as of now we're on track to have two months in a row that go down as the warmest on record.
