CBS4 Denver Broncos Practice Notebook, Aug. 16, 2018

Afternoon Update:

Today's joint practice concludes training camp 2018. The Broncos and Bears will meet Saturday for the second preseason game. Vance Joseph said the starters will play one to one-and-a-half quarters in the game. (Last week, the starters played just two series. )

John Elway met the media after practice as well. The GM was asked in Colin Kaepernick would be an option for a back up quarterback. Elway answered, "Colin had a chance to be here. We offered him a contract. He didn't take it. He had a chance to be here. He passed on it."

Elway also said he looks at the first preseason game as a "hiccup." He was disappointed and expects more this weekend. Elway added, "playing well is more important than starting fast"

Morning Update:

The Broncos and Bears hold their final joint practice Thursday before Saturday's preseason Game 2. The teams are practicing in shells today.

Shaq Barrett - hamstring
Su'a Cravens - knee
Dymonte Thomas
Michael Hunter
