Two trades were made during the second round. First, they swapped multiple picks with the Carolina Panthers. Denver traded four of their picks for four of the Panthers' picks. Then, they traded two of their picks for two of the Detroit Lions' picks. Finally, late on Friday, the Broncos traded some picks with the Eagles.

The Broncos' picks included No. 20 overall, and while there were some rumors in the days leading up to Thursday -- the first night of the draft -- that they might try to trade up, that didn't happen.

Denver general manager George Paton and head coach Sean Payton decided to give their already stellar defensive secondary a boost and drafted a cornerback with that No. 20 pick: Jahdae Barron out of Texas.

In the second and third rounds, the Broncos went offensive and drafted running back RJ Harvey out of UCF and wide receiver Pat Bryant out of Illinois. Then right before the night ended, they made a trade and drafted a defensive lineman.

In the later rounds, the Broncos front office could have their eyes on drafting another offensive skill player -- maybe a versatile, pass-catching tight end. In later rounds, there's also a good chance they'll try to pick an offensive lineman to help protect young quarterback Bo Nix.

Moments before the Broncos were set to choose the 197th overall pick, they traded with Houston for picks 216 and 241.

Who were the Broncos' best picks last year?

In 2024, the Denver Broncos drafted quarterback Bo Nix in the first round, and so far, it looks like a great decision for the franchise.
